Storybook and the Image Gallery Builder are simple online web applications that create a web image gallery or a web comic based upon text information that you provide in response to various dialogs, most of which are "fill in the blank" requests, and the images and text caption descriptions that you select and upload to populate the comic or gallery, along with an optional page background image and logos. Synthetic Reality will then host the comic or gallery as a page on this website, and also allow you to download a ZIP archive copy of the web page.

Note that you must be a verified user and you must agree to our "Terms of Service" to upload content to be shared through Synthetic Reality applications. You should also read our "Cookies Policy" to understand how Synthetic Reality uses cookies. Synthetic Reality does not use tracking cookies or any form of cookie that contains personal information.

Synthetic Reality applications may collect certain information about users who upload content, for example we may verify that upload users are also Facebook users or we may require a valid email address. Only verified users can upload content, we do not allow anonymous uploads. What data or information we collect about you as an upload user is associated with the content you upload, and what we do with that information is detailed in our "Privacy Policy" statement. However, as is stated in that policy, Synthetic Reality will not sell or provide any of your personal information to anyone without your permission.

The Builder Apps are installed on this site as a tool to create web image gallery pages or web comics which are then hosted and displayed on the site. In this mode a Builder could be used by a school or other organization with a web domain to allow students or members to build and upload their own content to be displayed on the organization's web site. There is a lovely term about software, "eat your own dogfood", and we use the Builder in that mode to create image gallery pages and web comics that I display on my own domain.
Alternatively the Builder Apps may be installed as an online tool to enable a user to create and subsequently download a ZIP archive containing all the content for a web image gallery or a web comic. The user can then unZip the archive to display and use the web gallery or web comic they made. In this mode a Builder does not save any content from users, and in fact it deletes the ZIP archive after a timeout delay. The Builders use PHP and mySQLi and other software to generate the image gallery or comic pages; however the generated web code, the gallery or comic that the Builder makes and downloads, is all plain HTML, CSS, and javascript so it will run on most any host or media with most browsers. The image gallery and comics use "responsive design" to allow it to be used on various screen sizes from smartphones to desktops.
